you are both so wrongthe early Discworld stuff is poor compared to the later stuff. Night Watch is probably the best one.
Diggers and Truckers are for kids and were also written before he'd got really very good.

The Hogfather is one of my favouritesbut my absolute favourite is Nation, it's not a discworld novel, it's a novel about a girl getting washed up on a desert island in a storm and trying to adapt to their customs, it's great.
