I'm around
how's your day been?
(, Tue 19 Oct 2010, 23:30, 1 reply, 15 years ago)
It's not been bad
Just got back from football and the pub. My favourite team won!

Did you get a hangover at any point today? Or did the power of youth see you cruise through the day without a headache?
(, Tue 19 Oct 2010, 23:31, Reply)
good news on the team front
No hangover I'm afraid. Up at half eight and out to the shops
(, Tue 19 Oct 2010, 23:33, Reply)
If I'd have drunk that much whisky I'd have needed a week to get over it.
Enjoy it whilst you can. One day out of nowhere the hangover will kick in!

What did you get at the shops?
(, Tue 19 Oct 2010, 23:35, Reply)
diet coke
bought some clothes as well.

Nah, I don't reckon I'll get them. My dad's never had a hangover either
(, Tue 19 Oct 2010, 23:38, Reply)
This really isn't fair.
I never got hangovers until I was in my 20's, then the pain kicked in.

You need to experience the hangover, it's one of lifes little reminders that 'fun doesn't come free'.
(, Tue 19 Oct 2010, 23:39, Reply)
I have to say
it sounds awful. Once or twice I've woken up and felt nauseous, but that's the extent I'm afraid. I reckon the body-fat stores it
(, Tue 19 Oct 2010, 23:43, Reply)
Not true.
I've had a couple of killer ones. Strangely one of the worst ones I've ever had was the day after I turned 20. I blame the horrible standard of alcohol.
(, Tue 19 Oct 2010, 23:44, Reply)
I think the worst one I ever had was the day after I met you

(, Tue 19 Oct 2010, 23:45, Reply)
If I knew either of you, I'd make some 'that wasn't a hangover' type comment
That would be both insightful and witty.

I don't though. So I can't.
(, Tue 19 Oct 2010, 23:47, Reply)
It totally was a hangover
as I went home alone and she went home with a lovely pair of northeners
(, Tue 19 Oct 2010, 23:52, Reply)
And Bill.

(, Tue 19 Oct 2010, 23:53, Reply)
That was probably from falling face first into a wall

(, Tue 19 Oct 2010, 23:52, Reply)
I think this should be emulated
at the Friday bash
(, Tue 19 Oct 2010, 23:55, Reply)
I wasn't there to see it
I wish I had been.
(, Tue 19 Oct 2010, 23:55, Reply)
which is another reason
emulation is called for
(, Tue 19 Oct 2010, 23:56, Reply)
I don't want to go all the way to camden

(, Tue 19 Oct 2010, 23:57, Reply)
Did you hit your head in camden?

(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 0:01, Reply)
Becky's Birthday Bash
Roughly a year ago now.
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 0:02, Reply)
I think a different location is fine
as long as the essential requirement of Al knocking his head off a wall is fulfilled
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 0:07, Reply)
I did it while being sick too

(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 0:09, Reply)
you're a walking pillar of class and sobriety
you making a proper night of it on Friday?
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 0:10, Reply)
Can't afford to get too drunk
I'm on a very limited budget
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 0:11, Reply)
Who'll be first to chunder, do you think?

(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 0:10, Reply)
You.

(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 0:11, Reply)
Although it depends how nervous Amberl is

(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 0:12, Reply)
not nervous at all I'm afraid
last time was my first time and I think I had justifiable reason to be nervous
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 0:12, Reply)
I'm going to stick to less than 4 drinks.
Sorry to be not very entertaining.
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 0:13, Reply)
I'm getting the last train back
so I'm joining all the modest drinkers.
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 0:19, Reply)
I don't think anyone is caning it

(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 0:21, Reply)
Which makes me all the more glad I'm not coming.
I'd want excessive alcohol and dancing.
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 0:22, Reply)
Not that far away from Euston!

(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 0:01, Reply)
Well, enjoy the hangover free life whilst you can!
What clobber did you buy at the shops?
(, Tue 19 Oct 2010, 23:45, Reply)
I bought a rather lovely top
some knitted tights and a nice eyeliner.

Tell you what, first hangover, I'll let you know and you can fully mock me. Bear in my mind that I might sleep through them. Usually I'm in bed by three, up by half six/7, but when I drink I'm gone till half eight/nine
(, Tue 19 Oct 2010, 23:47, Reply)
Whilst I don't wish you ill.
I hope you'll wake up, post bash with a hangover. It'll be like I'm there in spirit (or spirits, depending on your tipple).
(, Tue 19 Oct 2010, 23:51, Reply)
This
I had them, but not badly. Until one day about 3 years ago, I honestly thought I was dying - every hangover I've had since then has been a killer.
(, Tue 19 Oct 2010, 23:48, Reply)
Was it a hangover or GUILT?
Sniggers
(, Tue 19 Oct 2010, 23:50, Reply)
Thank you, but no
I've never done anything I could feel guilty about before - aside of course from drinking excessively and making a tit of myself.
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 0:07, Reply)
Sorry.
I don't mean anything by it.

So are you going for a drink with hot-bloke tomorrow?
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 0:09, Reply)
No
I'm going on monday instead...
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 0:12, Reply)
That'll give you the weekend to get your hair done
And pick out the killer outfit!
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 0:17, Reply)
Not at all :P
I'm at the bash this weekend so it's entirely possible that I will still have the vestiges of a hangover on monday and look completely minging. Plus I;m going straight from work so it'll be jeans, tshirt and pub.
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 0:28, Reply)
Jeans and a t-shirt can look fantasitc.
Will you be investing in a new t-shirt for the occasion?
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 0:31, Reply)
The worst one I've ever had was dreadful
I couldn't move, or talk. I blame topping all the alcohol up with lambrini and shotting wine.
(, Tue 19 Oct 2010, 23:55, Reply)
Eugh that is awful
I did wine shots once- a bottles worth. Can't remember the rationale but it was actually disgusting
(, Tue 19 Oct 2010, 23:55, Reply)
We got a bottle between 2, a timer, and 2 shot glasses
A shot a minute for 11 mins- which is how long it takes roughly to finish the wine.
I had that night: gin cocktail, Fruli, 3 apple sours, half a bottle of wine, litre of lambrini. BLEH
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 0:05, Reply)
I genuinely think I would have died
I'm such a lightweight nowadays
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 0:07, Reply)
Not in my genes to be a lightweight
I might start cutting back on alcohol though
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 0:08, Reply)
You'll be over the cut-back
Once the recycling gets collected and you can no longer see the evidence.
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 0:11, Reply)
this is a tiny bit true
empty whisky bottle, four wine bottles and a small empty gin bottle
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 0:13, Reply)
If you can't wait for the recycling
Fill the bottles with petrol and start the uprising.
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 0:16, Reply)
Both my parents were alcoholics
my paternal grandfather also. So you'd think I'd have inherited some resistance somewhere along the way, but no! It doesn't help that I drink so rarely, either.
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 0:13, Reply)
I can see why you drink rarely
my mother's family is Irish, my father's is Scoth. Excellent drinking genes, but also a very handy vein of non-addictive nature
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 0:14, Reply)
I am still a lightweight
I couldn't remember if I threw up or not, and I had sex with my friend. Who I was comforting after she'd split up with her boyfriend.
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 0:09, Reply)
Ah well
did she feel comforted though?
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 0:27, Reply)
She felt a lot worse for wear the next morning.
That trip home to Manchester was entertaining, to say the least.
