i realised last night that it would be very easy to make a hideous facebook mistake. if, just say, you wanted to look someone up to see if they were on facebook, well. the "search" box is alarmingly near the "what's on your mind" box.

you could really unwittingly embarrass yourself there.

Her mum and I aren't friends on Facebook, but we share many mutual friends on there
and it'd look a bit weird if my status was just her name. Actually it amazes me how many genuinely brilliant people I know are friends with her on Facebook considering what a conniving, hateful bitch she is.

I'm entriely selective about who I add.
I think to myself, do I want this person knowing the ins and outs of my life? If I saw this person in real life, would there be anything more than a perfunctory catch-up chat then parting? If the answer's no to either of these questions, no friendy accepty.

I had a big cull on FB recently - got rid of a load of volunteers I had to keep in touch with for Crisis - but no need now I have given up volunteering for them.
I also removed a couple of my gf's mates who I don't like - this went down badly apparently.
