I rang them up on satruday to see if they had my prescription, they said 'no', I asked to double check and they still said 'no'. I rang the doctors today and apparently they did pick it up on saturday. They don't open 'till 9:30. It takes me an hour to get into work, so I'm going to be late on a monday morning when everyone who doesn't know about my stomach stuff is going to think I've got a fucking hang over or are lazy or something like that.... when really I've been up since 5 and ready to leave since 7:15.
I'm going to have to be shit-hot at my job today to make up for this, or work late, or anything like that.
It's one thing this happening because of a medical problem, it's completely another for a burocrattic one.

As an employer I can say I'd far rather have advance notice of lateness: plus it shows the person is awake and not merely oversleeping.

And I can't say that I'll try not to let it happen again, 'cus it will happen again, 'cus of the nature of the tablets I need.

because that way they know you're not happy and why, and they might be able to change things so that it doesn't happen again.

And I just managed to get through to the doctors and they say it's been done but they don't have it.
They're now phoning each other to sort this out.
Pete's sake.

Thus showing that you are taking steps to ensure it doesn't happen again.
