I hate being sick more than I hate being fat.

I'm all right with it
Thanks to illness I spent a lot of time with a very upset stomach, being sick a lot and after a while you get used to it. I'd just leave a book by the loo.

i did that a bit as a teenager/young adult
and flirted a tiny bit with anorexia when i was at uni, how cliched spoiled middle class female student can you get, half my friends were at it too. lucky i recovered REALLY REALLY REALLY well, eh??

the problem is that even now it still seems like a good idea and a novel idea that nobody else has ever thought of. which is ludicrous, but the sneaking temptation is always lurking around somewhere. stupid food. why can't it all be calorie-free??

When I was around my early thirties I lost a shit load of weight and still thought I was too big.
I had the sense of mind to realise it was all in my head but I could see how easy it would be to slip into that madness.

I'm trying to lose weight at the minute, and skipping multiple meals unintentionally (I wake up late on weekends, and often won't eat lunch)
Add that to the fact I've stopped snacking between meals, and I'm losing a fair chunk of weight, but I've still got a long way to go.

Yes, I know this isn't a very good way of doing it, but it's working for me.

depressingly
research is now showing that skipping a meal a day is much more effective at weightloss than the gym.

the problem is that it is impossible to maintain long term, so it all rushes back on!

I'll be joining the gym at the end of Jan, when my finances are a little clearer

Yeah! short term starvation just messes with your metabolism and you pile it on again when you go back to eating normally.

It might be
someone genuinely complimented me the other night and it was a lovely warm feeling.
Though I concede that part of me still probably thought they were lying

Was it your mum?
That was meant as humour rather than insult btw.

She did say I was looking well, but no, shockingly it was someone other than my mum
