I realised yesterday that not only is everyone in London terribly busy and important, but they are also philosophers and great thinkers to a one - this is the only explanation for the frenzied way they will scrabble and fight their way onto public transport even unto the point of delaying the tube when the next one is only a minute away, but will also stop at random on busy thoroughfares while the meaning of life reveals itself to them.
