York.
Great for shopping, bad for living.

I love York
Best place in the country for pubs bar none. On the flip side it's absolutely terrible for clubs.

well, I'm going with the old woman and her bezzie
so there won't be much pubbing and very little clubbing.

But they do know how to shop, so a good time should be had by all.

Assuming they can make it - they both have to get to Edinburgh to catch the train first, and I think Scotland is up to its collective tits in snow at the moment. We have literally none, and I feel very left out.

I want snow, dammit!

The Edinburgh train to Kings X (that stops at Newcastle then York) is currently delayed by 300 minutes according to my mate who as we speak is coming from York to Newcastle.
Good luck to them coming down!

Great for Viking artifacts, bad for accents.

(, Wed 1 Dec 2010, 17:16, Reply)
what's wrong with their accents?

(, Wed 1 Dec 2010, 17:17, Reply)
The same as what's wrong with anyone north of Watford's accent, at a guess.

gie'oer
it's a cracking accent. Not as bad as Barnsley, where a good half of my family is from.

'cracking' if you like the dismal drone of the 'Tetley Tea Folk', I suppose.

Brian Glover
who used to be the Tetley Tea Folk Gaffer, used to teach my auntie in Barnsley.

He looked mentally deficient.

I just remembered them playing in Sheffield after that
Reality TV show they did with Harvey Goldsmith, I think that's why I thought they were from Sheffield.
