I've just been to put the bin out
As the bin men around our way never come before lunchtime.

They've already fucking been. Thankfully it's recycling bin week so at least we're not stuck with a full, smelly bin for another fortnight.

I've just remembered that there's a meeting this afternoon
About a training session I'm giving next week, so I kind of have to go in otherwise I won't be prepped in time.

I'm trying to get them to cancel the training next week on account of the weather, though, as people will have to travel a fair distance for it, many from the north of the county which has been really badly hit by snow. I can't see there being a big thaw between now and next Wednesday.

Why not leave it another couple of hours before you go in?
That way, as soon as you get there, it'll more or less be time to turn round and come home.
