This is a question Phobias

What gives you the heebie-jeebies?

It's a bit strong to call this a phobia, but for me it's the thought of biting into a dry flannel. I've no idea why I'd ever want to or even get the opportunity to do so, seeing as I don't own one, but it makes my teeth hurt to think about it. *ewww*

Tell us what innocent things make you go pale, wobbly and send shivers down your spine.

Not so much a phobia...
... but I reckon there's something a bit sinister about people who keep changing their b3ta identity. Not in a Dave the Hat way, or a Bert's Evil Twin way - I mean in a "complete change of name" way.

I'm looking at one person in particular. You know who you are, even if you think noone else does...

But I'm not.
OoooOOoh.

I changed my name
because there was an emminently more skilled poster, also called prof something or other.

I am
The one and only...
(, Thu 17 Apr 2008, 12:10, closed)

(, Thu 17 Apr 2008, 12:11, closed)
I've actually considered changing my B3ta name
But only because mine's a bit shit (I was in a rush when signing up)
(, Thu 17 Apr 2008, 12:12, closed)
...
There's someone who posts here who changes his identity every week or so. It's him I have in mind.

I am playing with my faff

you cut and paste that and THEN added the 2, right?
(, Thu 17 Apr 2008, 12:16, closed)
I need to change mine
PJM is a bit shit. However I lack the necessary inagination to come up with something new
(, Thu 17 Apr 2008, 12:16, closed)
Of course not
I didn't know what a ceilidh was until you told me, but I always see your name as crack house ceilid hband anyway, it's a easy to spell.
(, Thu 17 Apr 2008, 12:17, closed)
You know you want to
Spill the beans!

Oh hang on, there's a substantial proportion of B3tans who are bean-phobic.

Spill your guts!

Nope, gore-phobics.

Let the cat out of the bag!

Nope, cat-phobics (and also Royal-Navy-Flogging-Slang-Phobics)

Sod it. Tell.

I've always wondered...

What does the PJM stand for anyway?

PJM
Pre Jam Monocles?

Pensive Jive Manifest?

PyJaMas?

Pocket Jewel Molester?

When I first signed up
I alternated between this and DodgyBobMcMayday, but then got bored, and just used DodgyBob for various other sites instead.

Maybe it's just somone who hasn't made their mind up.

Saying that, I'm actually Enzyme in disguise

Ceilidh
Indeed I do like the ceilidhs. I even know how to pronounce it.

But as a Scot, I was born with that knowledge. It's in ROM.

@LemonEntry
I want your job.

^^^^ PJM
Ah, I'd love to be able to say it's something witty and inspired but it isn't. Plus my mum would soon realise it's me.

Bah.

Oo, oo
Can I play at it? Can I? Can I?

Not been at a good ceilidh in ages.

I'll dance. I'll even call.

I'd happily swap my job for a journey to Mongolia in a potential deathtrap of a car. (I very nearly would, it sounds quite the awesome adventure)

@CHCB
Bass, acoustic, even drums on an occasion, and calling too.

Oh, how fun it would be.
(, Thu 17 Apr 2008, 12:33, closed)
It's Me!
I apologise for deception

I don't mean to be sinister.

sometimes it can be quite liberating to have an alter-ego
(, Thu 17 Apr 2008, 12:33, closed)
hmm
i changed my name, 'cause the old one was rubbish. but only once, and won't do it again.
i'm intrigued by the idea of frequent changes though. who is/was it?!
(, Thu 17 Apr 2008, 12:38, closed)
@LemonEntry
I've been thinking about jacking in teaching web usability to actually doing it for a living.

But yes, driving cars long distances is even more fun.

I'm inclined to agree with you...I know who it is you're pointing the accusing finger at....it took me a couple of weeks to notice...it's slightly irritating because we only know each other through our names...a bit like someone constantly changing their face in the real world. Rather like Joan Rivers I suppose. Or Michael Jackson.
(, Thu 17 Apr 2008, 13:04, closed)
@chickenlady
a couple of weeks?

Maybe it isn't me then.

I am not Lunar Jim
But I wish I was

I'm sorry, I haven't a clue
I briefly considered changing mine after the godawful pun that escaped from my fingertips yesterday. However, I'm big enough to take responsibility for my actions...
(, Thu 17 Apr 2008, 13:24, closed)
@CHCB
We have vacancies for web usability peeps (x2), but only in our London office :-\ No idea where you're based, but gaz if interested and I'll send ya the JD url.

Alternative, I think you'd make more money going solo as self employed (guess you've though about all this anyway). However, driving cars long distances does sound more fun :)

Fair play for teaching it; something I could never see myself doing. Much happier squirrelled away behind a desk somewhere.

ID swapping...

I thought everybody did it?

I did change my hastily-thought-of name once but got told off by BGB and changed it back.

curses!

*thinks of another identity*
