This is a question Political Correctness Gone Mad

Freddy Woo writes: "I once worked on an animation to help highlight the issues homeless people face in winter. The client was happy with the work, then a note came back that the ethnic mix of the characters were wrong. These were cartoon characters. They weren't meant to be ethnically anything, but we were forced to make one of them brown, at the cost of about 10k to the charity. This is how your donations are spent. Wisely as you can see."

How has PC affected you? (Please add your own tales - not five-year-old news stories cut-and-pasted from other websites)

Dunno if anyone's mentioned this
but they deserve a mention. This is how fucked up Britain is.

We have banned "Tom and Jerry"

Not the new and utterly crap "cat and mouse buddies on adventures", oh no no no no. They banned the good old classic ones, just in case anyone replicates violence in the home.

PC'ing motherfuckers, no wonder this country is going to the dogs.

Heard of this...
...T&J are my fave cartoons in the world. Myself and my brother both loved them as kids and still do now in our thirties. Granted, we spent most of our childhood beating the crap out of each other, but it's completely unrelated, I swear ;)

Which is why I mean to begin collecting the Classic Collection DVDs for his benefit and my own at my earliest convenience.

Bastards - They're taking a major and fondly-remembered part of my childhood away here - I'm not having it :)

Not Quite
You can still find the old ones playing on Boomerang on the kids tv channels on Sky

Who
has banned Tom and Jerry? As celticmick says, you can still see them on boomerang.

Confused.

Speedy
I read that Speedy Gonzalez was banned by some networks for portraying Hispanics in a negative way. Apparently being a quick as fuck, super cool and funny mouse that likes pretty lady mice is negative.

Arriba!

Mammy Two Shoes
Think it might have been a just the dozen of so ones with this character in that may have been pulled by some for not being PC.

true..
It's a good thing, because just the other day I dropped an anvil on my wife and she had to walk around like an accordion. But she got me back later on by tying a bit of string to my foot and then dragging me through the bannister rails, across a washboard, up a drainpipe and onto a hot stove.

Next time, I'm going to give her firework disguised as a cigar.

I've seen some
of the one's where the housemaid is re-dubbed.

I think it's Alfre Woodard, who played Bill Murray's secretaryin Scrooged.

But I may be wrong

...also
...they edited out all the smoking bits. As most folk back then knew that smoking in the 50's was actually good for you, it serves as a reminder of times gone by. Jerry often had a cigar/cigarette when in a Tuxedo - as all socialites did.

Bloody crazy i say. They will be editing in stuff to compensate soon. Gay Jerry, Asian Jerry and maybe even Chinese Tom.
