This is a question Procrastination

Outlook is a wonderful tool, but not when it keeps reminding you that it is now 96 weeks since you were supposed to finish a report you haven't even started yet.

Just how lazy are you? How long will you put off the essential or the inevitable? What do you fill the time with?

(We're too lazy to write something funny here. You do it.)

Computer games
these are the games i've turned to through the years whenever I was supposed to be doing something important:

Elite
Populous
Sensible Soccer
Premier Manager
Sim City
Championship Manager
Civilization
Age of Empires
Runescape

They probably account for about 5% of my lifetime. On the plus side, I don't watch much TV.

Not to mention
World of Warcraft.

After playing Runescape every day
for the best part of 2 years from waking up to going to bed, I decided no more MMORPGs!

Damn right!

I downloaded a port of Elite recently
and it took out another good week of my life. It's aged well.

Me too
a few months back and the same fondueing bug that screwed up my games on the Amiga all those years ago struck again - you wait outside a space station for the character that you have to assassinate and they never show up. Accept any number of missions from then on and none of them ever show up. Why can't some carrot fix that??? I'd do it myself if I wasn't thick.

I still play this game...
Not to mention: Frontier:Elite 2 and Frontier First Encounters (Elite 3).

This bug is in all of them it seems, the trick is to not hyperspace into the system AT ALL if you're more than 28 days away from the target date.

I found that answer about 10 years ago and it seems to 'fix' the problem.

Excellent
might have to give it another go...

I've spent many weeks playing Elite...
... But i'm HOOKED on X3: Terran Conflict at the moment... I think I got 2 hours sleep last night!

Surely
You can't leave Graham Taylor's Soccer Challenge from your list?!
(, Thu 13 Nov 2008, 20:46, closed)
Have I
never heard of that?
(, Thu 13 Nov 2008, 21:06, closed)
You do have
an excellent taste in games.
(, Thu 13 Nov 2008, 21:30, closed)
well...
I watch less than an hour of TV a day and spend bloody ages on source engine games and mods. when I started going on half life 2 I got nothing done for several days. I did both the episodes over a weekend, along with lost coast and a couple of maps I got for episode 2 (saw, berlin wall).

I feel the presence of a fellow Amiga user
I had to pack my Amiga away in 1995 so that I would concentrate on my A-Levels

I should have done that

If you'd like another suggestion
Homeworld seems to absorb my time rather well.

I've just downloaded
an update for Champ Man 01/02 to update it to this season, my god it's good!
(, Fri 14 Nov 2008, 12:02, closed)
Jagged Alliance 2
It's suprising how many hours of amusement can be extracted from a game so devoid of content.

Cheekily downloaded the Wildfire expansion pack only to find it is in Polish and I can't figure out how to change it (if it's even possible). Oh well, we live and learn.

I've spent
5 years playing Eve Online

Ah, Elite
You know, if I had my whole life again I'd look at the time I wasted playing Elite and happily waste it all over again. Strong contender for best game ever.
