My sex misconceptions
Freddy Woo writes, "aged eight, a boy from my class told me everything these was to know about sex: male prostitutes are called destitutes and women use tampons to stop men sticking their willies up them. Also, women pee out their bums, something I didn't realise was wrong until I was about 18 and my first girlfriend looked at me aghast."

it sounds perfectly feasible to me.
I know a guy who has a teenage son. He was telling me about how his son was in the school soccer team, and getting a bit too competitive about it for this guy's liking.
I said that, in my opinion, a lot of the stupid things that teenage boys do, for example driving like idiots, are efforts to impress girls (or boys, in the case of drama students).
So he might not be completely conscious of it, but on some level this kid is probably imagining that success in soccer = success with the young ladies.
Thus if someone could tell him (and young folks in general) without putting him on the defensive or being patronising, that this wasn't true - or at least that stringing a sentence together and dressing nice are vastly better strategies - then the soccer would be about soccer and so his competitiveness would reduce to an appropriate level.
He reacted along the lines of "ho ho, you and your amusingly cynical observations about modern life", but I meant it seriously. I wish someone had done that for me when I was young.
So, is it a bullshit theory?

Not bullshit at all
women are evil and fickle and no amount of achievement either sporting or academic etc. will be enough to please them.
Best advice would be : do whatever the fuck you want, cos that's what the women are doing

I know that
being a renowned athlete can help.
My point is that being able to talk to girls and breathe at the same time would be an equally attractive and unusual accomplishment for a 15 year old, and it's easier, and it's going to stay effective longer.

I think there's a lot of common sense in your theory.
Let's face it,myself, Imost of my friends only took up the guitar as teenagers because wethey thought it would make girls notice them.

I'm sorry
I read your entire post twice, but could still see sign of punnage. Perhaps they're too subtle for me this week, or perhaps you're not the real apeloverage, hmmm?
In other news, I don't think it's an entirely bullshit theory, and I'm unsure on the underlying reasons for competitiveness in people, being fairly uncompetititve myself. I'm sure there are more reasons than just wanting to impress the opposite (or same) sex however. Depends on the person, their background, their peers etc

Simple answer
Look at the number of very average looking Premiership footballers, and their well above average looking ladies.
Rooney, Crouch, Gerrard, Lampard, etc.
I rest my case m'lud.

That's not because
they are good at football. It's because they are obscenely overpaid and will throw money at any whoretart who's willing to put up with their retarded attempts at conversation and let them put their cocks inside them.

Yes
Someone who I can't be arsed to look up found that most of the great inventors did all their fancy stuff before getting married, after which they weren't as bothered any more. Newton was a virgin, hence the extra effort.
So remember: full balls= full success.

Association Football, my Lord.
I believe it's a sort of Rugby played by workingmen.

So how do you explain the female equivalent?
Most women, and especially young girls, will go out of their way to bring other girls down, or outdo them in looks etc, which explains the bitchiness and obsession with fashion and makeup. Subconsciously they are trying to look like the best woman in order to attract a man.
However I would imagine (I'm not a bloke) that bitchiness makes most men nervous, and that looking good is a good way to attract a man, but if the way you look good is mostly chicken fillet bras, photoshopped facebook pictures, fake eyelashes and lots of makeup, the bloke is not likely to stick around once he has woken up and the beer goggles have worn off.
I can't end this post right, (sorry, baby due on monday and he is stealing my brainpower), but my ending note was supposed to be something along the lines of I get along with most blokes but there are very few women I truly enjoy the company of, and none of them are like this - they all have personality and metaphorically speaking, balls!
Eh, that still wasn't quite what I wanted to express. I give up.
