This is a question My sex misconceptions

Freddy Woo writes, "aged eight, a boy from my class told me everything these was to know about sex: male prostitutes are called destitutes and women use tampons to stop men sticking their willies up them. Also, women pee out their bums, something I didn't realise was wrong until I was about 18 and my first girlfriend looked at me aghast."

Up until the age of 35 or so
I was under the misconception that a vasectomy was a trivial operation with absolutly no side effects or pain - well apart from perhaps a couple of weeks of slight discomfort at worst..... (Also with absolutely no way of getting pregnant the wife would be gagging for it).

Turns out "weeks" actually means "years" and discomfort is defined as it bloody hurts every time you spluff, every time you want to spluff and for hours after you spluff.... (and she isn't).

These facts have been confirmed by every other male I've ever met since who's had one.

I blame Cosmo.

That's interesting.
Not sure I'd ever get it done, but interesting to know.
Kinda sucks for you though *manhugs*

Painfree
Never had an problem - no discomfort. Well, apart from when the cat leapt on my groin a few days afterwards.

A few of my mates
have had their tubes snipped, and I've heard about it in graphic detail from most of them. None have mentioned years of discomfort (although one did mention that the stitches went septic, and he could see his testicle through the hole in his scrotum!) so maybe you should get it checked out.

The doctor said
sometimes that happens, they still produce sperm, but there is no-where for them to go. Eventually they get "re-absorbed".

It's ok now.

What
did it look like? I don't particulary want to go looking for pictures of them but I've always been curious (as to how their colour etc!).
Also, I can't imagine ever going through this so props to buffet for a) having the manliness (is this even a word) to go through with it and b) reversing it as I've heard this is even more painful!

Lummee... I had mine done years ago...
and I never had any problems at all. In fact I went to the pub for a couple of pints after it because I was in and out of hospital within 30 minutes and thought the ex would suspect I'd chickened out.

Clocks forward 16 years and I have a reversal.. Absolutely no probs at all. Even convinced the new woman she had to massage them for an hour every night for three months to ensure the blood flow worked... (Honest!!! Heh! I enjoyed it) and it did...

My own experience....
...I had the op about 8 years ago. No problems really, but my plums ached for about a fortnight afterwards. Back playing footie after about a week or so though.

A mate of mine didn't have such a good time though after his stiches got infected, so I guess I should count myself lucky.

good to know.
I got the leaflet after my third babby arrived. It was all fine and dandy until it said that some men suffer from a vaguely named symptom called 'chronic pain' afterwards. This was, apparently permanent and untreatable.

Sort of went off the idea at that point.

brothers snip
My brother put me off getting the snip by whopping his out and saying "look at the colour of them" after they got infected. Black swollen bollocks puts you off very quickly.
