Spoilt Brats
Mr Newton sighs, "ever known anyone so spoilt you would love to strangle? I lived with a Paris Hilton-a-like who complained about everything, stomped her feet and whinged till she got her way. There was a happy ending though: she had to drop out of uni due to becoming pregnant after a one night stand..."
Who's the spoiltest person you've met? Has karma come to bite them yet? Or did you in fact end up strangling them? Uncle B3ta (and the serious crimes squad) wants to know.

This might have the most responses of any QOTW ever...
The b3tans do love their schadenfreude and sour grapes.
I wish I had a good story, but our current president pretty much takes win place and show in the Spoilt Brat competition. Luckily he'll be retired to Crawford, TX in a couple of months, and with any luck our new president will be the capable young guy, not the cantankerous old guy.

Will it really make any difference who the man at the top is?
Surely the majority of policy makers, think tanks etc, what we call Civil Servants, and the military command... ie all people who aren't voted in... they fundamentally steer the country anyway? Will changing the man at the top and his close employees really change that much, other than the way the policies are broadcast to the public?
I don't wanna get into a political arguement, but correct me if I'm wrong.
/economic mire and frustration with 'democratic' opportunity

It will at least be interesting to see
how Obama is assassinated if he gets voted in.

Hahaha
I thought I'd heard all possible variations on humourous Obama comments, but that actually made me laugh out loud.

I think that applies to the rest of world. With the exception of dictatorships.

Is America
really ready for a black president? Bear in mind that less than 50 years ago, he wouldn't have been able to sit at the front of the bus. (if he was alive then that is).
No slur on American individuals per se (everyone I've met and talked to have been top dollar), but as a collective they can be pretty dim when it comes to politics. I'd wager a good percentage of middle America won't vote Obama simply because he's black.
Saying that, I think your country could do with adopting some sort of European style socialism and a national health system.

He's doing
rather well in the polls. But the fear is that all these nice middle americans tell the pollsters "oh yes, that nice obama, I agree with his policies and would like him to win".
But then when they get into the polling booth the back of their mind starts screaming "Oh my god! A black man as president! He'll want to come round and make cappuccino babies with all my daughters!" and then vote for the other guy.
But I do hope that doesn't happen.

I
don't think Booth had any problems pulling the trigger to get the president he wanted.

Not all of us think that
And some of us are actually quite pleased that America might finally be starting to move beyond caring more about the colour of a person's skin than the content of their character. Believe it or not!

greetings from the future!
I have good news and bad news.
The good news is that the cantankerous old guy won't be your President. Not for very long anyway...

Don't scare me like that
Just what the world needs, the stiff old white haired guy dies and we get his replacement: a very stupid fundamentalist believer in the "End of Days" probably willing to do whatever is required to bring it closer so she can be lifted up to heaven without her clothes in the rapture. She is the only person in the world who could actually be worse than our present Monkey boy president.
Help. I need British citizenship! (I know, I'm a whiney American).
