Teenage Crushes - Part Two
Freddie Woo writes: I've still got weird feelings for a well-known female TV presenter from the 1980s. I'm now in my forties, work in the same building as her and she follows me on a number of social networking sites. And now, she knows about it.
Tell us about the teenage crushes that still make you go wobbly.

Test-Card Girl
Was it just me or did anyone else have a crush on Carole Hersee (AKA. Test-Card Girl) when they were a kid?

For a long time I thought the clown was just its head
and next to it was a shiny green skull with a red nose.
Go on, look at it - can't you see the green skull?
I was an odd child.

You're not alone...
I first saw that picture over three decades ago and it's taken until now for someone to point out to me that it's not a shiny green skull.
You probably were an odd child though.

Definitely wasn't just you
I'm sure the writers of Life On Mars were creeped out by her too.
Being aussie I never saw her before that show, but I was definitely creeped out by her and the damn clown when watching it.

I have it on very good authority
That Carol went a bit off the rails in College a decade or so after the Picture for F was taken so had you been of age at the time you probably could have enacted some of those thoughts!

I remember
thinking the test card girl was attractive but too old for me. This isn't a peado joke, so I must have been REALLY young at the time.

I was too terrified of the clown to do anything.
Look at him....creepy fucker. And he must be alive, because there are both noughts and crosses on the board.
The longer you stare at him, the creepier he becomes.
