Save water and energy
by using the same water you boil your eggs with to make a cup of tea/coffee.

becuase the water usually smells of it afterwards

Mmm.
Egg tea.

OUTDOORS MAN
I actually do this (albeit with coffee) whenever I go camping in the wilds. The slightly calcium taste is masked by the strong coffee, and as the water is usually from a stream it would taste of chlorine tablets anyway. Saves 5 minutes.

You do know
the egg comes out of the same place from which the chicken poos? They wash them at the factory, but do you want to depend on that?

oh dear
i have actually done this

It may not work
if you put salt in the water first, which I do.

No idea why I do this, I know that salty water boils at a higher temperature, therefore your eggs cook faster. Only they don't, it's pretty much the same with or without.

But your tea/coffee would be rank.
