Avoid Injury
If you've been stopped by the police for a minor infraction, jaywalking, littering etc, always smile and act pleasant.

Otherwise you could be shot or tazered for being "uncooperative", making the officer feel worried "for his safety"

Remember, that fellow with the gun, club, tazer, mace, will feel threatened and fear for his life if you even so much as question his reason for stopping you.

But then, sometimes you'll be shot, tazered, maced, clubbed etc. no matter what.

Just hope someone is around to video your abuse.

Try living somewhere third world
Like Colombia, Zimbabwe, Cambodia etc etc.

Encounter the corrpt policemen there who will kill you if they feel like it, and will definitely put the fear of god into you if you so much as look in their direction. Who will beat you enought that you require a stay in intensive care if you can't bribe them enough. Who will lock you up indefinitely for the most minor infraction, or with absolutely no reason whatsoever. Who are accountable to absolutely no-one as they are the sole props of whatever regime is in power.

Then come back to this country and appreciate the good job the police over here actually do.

Ian Tomlinson? An acloholic, disowned by his family 15 years ago, living on the streets and in and out of hostels. How many times have you obtained an unexplained drunken injury? That man had spent the last 15 years of his life permanently pissed. ANYTHING could have happened to him in the last few days of his life before meeting the cops to cause some internal bleeding.

All that heavily edited footage shown on the news websites? Show me the unedited footage of those protesters giving hell to the policement for hours beforehand first, then I'll make sweeping jusgements about it.

And if the police had sat back and done nothing, and let the protesters wreck not just one branch of the RBS but the entire City? The papers would be full of condemnation about that as well.

The words "rock" and "hard place" spring to mind.

How do you know the videos are edited? Can you tell by the pixels and some of the lazor? Have you shooped quite a few whoops in your time?

The video clearly shows the police smacking him with their batons.

The police pray all year for something like that, a large scale protest so they can bash anarchists, if you think they are aren't thugs looking for a fight any more than the people they are fighting you need to go die.
