Window telesalesWhen they ring you up to sell the windows/doors/patio whatever, just remember the C word!
COUNCIL. Say "I'm with the council" and they'll terminate the call asap because they can't sell things like that to council tenants.

I'm with the councilDo you know what - this works. Really.
Weirdly, it even works on people trying to get you to sign up for credit cards.
The only people it doesn't work on are those religious canvassers. They do blink a bit, but tend to keep going after a brief pause.
