Worst Band Ever
If I was in charge of the B3ta fatwa department, we wouldn't be hearing too much from Simply Red in the future. Who's on your musical shit list and why?

Only 'Song 2',
and that's only because it's the most un-Blurgh song that I've heard.
Personally, I'd rather listen to silence than either of them, but Oasis are infinitely worse. Or were, anyway - we must be grateful for small mercies.

Even
silence isn't the same now as it used to be. It's Billy Fucking Bragg.

They've sold a lot of records for a Beatles tribute act.
But I agree. They're shit.

Yeah, 'bands' like Oasis
mean that I can't use the 'they've sold loads of records' argument when defending any of my own bands.
Just as well, really, as loads of records sold doesn't necessarily equal great quality. There was an episode of Penn & Teller: Bullshit where Penn said that Elton John's Candle In The Wind '97 is the biggest-selling single of all time, but that doesn't make it any good.
Personally, I think the number of people that see a band live (while they're still touring) should be the only neutral incicator of talent.

Sorry for this moment of pedantry, but
White Christmas is the biggest selling single ever. Candle in the Wind '97 is the biggest selling in the UK. The biggest selling non-charity single in the UK is Bohemian Rhapsody.
And Oasis are responsible for this www.youtube.com/watch?v=SyBBlt4bajM&feature=fvst

I could
never see the attraction with them. Piss poor Beatles cover band with the exception that by the end, the Beatles could play their instruments.
When an Oasis song has a guitar 'break' in it, I think it sounds like someone who got a guitar for Christmas and has read "Play in a day" by Bert Weedon and thought "That's enough, one day should cover it".
Makes my ears bleed, with the exception of Wonderwall, which was ok-ish but nothing to write home about and the god-awful sounding singing is enough to make anyone ashamed that they ever listened to it.

Yup
Mainly famous for ripping off other people's music. Geniuses or so I'm told.
