Just put a bottle of Heidseck Monople in the fridge
my mum's on the way over to stay for a few days and enjoy come culchaaaaahhhhhh innit. I've booked her in to see the Hogarth in Europe and the Yayoi Kusama: Infinity Mirror Rooms exhibition at the Tate. We've got a box booked in the ENO for Valkyrie on Friday. Five fucking hours of Wagner opera - can't wait!

It's a friend's 50th today too so he's calling in on the way back so we'll have a full house and a bottle of bubbly.

I’ve run this through Google Translate and am still none the wiser

We went to Yayoi Kusama's exhibition at GOMA in Brisbane a few years ago.
I'm not an insufferable art ponce, but it was good fun. I particularly liked the obliteration room, where you get handed a sheet of coloured stickers and whack them anywhere you like in the room.

OOohhhh! Sounds like fun!

It was a lot more fulfilling than it deserved to be.
I guess she knows what she's doing.

+ five hours of Wagner? Why not go the whole hog and grow a toothbrush moustache and gas some Jews?

(, Tue 7 Dec 2021, 14:01, archived)
I fear anyone who can listen to 5 hours of Wagner, they clearly have more grim determination than I can muster.

Extreme? It’s a minimum requirement.

I'm not sure I could consume 5 hours of any art or media
in one sitting

sounds alright
if you're going to live in London it makes sense to make use of the benefits. Something we've not been able to do for some time.

Mum's been a bit bereft of highbrow entertainment for the last 18 months
in Feb 2020 we went to the Barbican for the Beethoven festival weekender and did all nine symphonies so we did get a whole year's worth of classical music in one big hit.

Valkyrie may be pushing things a bit but my mum won an ENO raffle so we thought we'd get our money's worth - five hours. FIVE HOURS! That's value...

I reckon the dark web is where we will find some
but I haven't a clue about crypto and not only that, the people with whom I would take it have been excised from my life for the purposes of prolonging both my existence and my marriage. No acid for me :(

5 hours of Wagner is a bit much
Take her to a saucy puppet show instead

She can damn well go to Muppet burlesque
under her own steam. She's a grown up now.
