tl;dr: she got an Escherichia coli infection in her nose.
It happened after:
a) she had an operation, and
b) her then-boyfriend farted in her general direction.

Understandably, she's blaming the fart, even though that would be an implausible means of transmission for that infection, rather than the much-more-likely hospital-borne infection on a nasal cannula during her operation.
