I've finally got my remaining records out to sell. It's nice having a massive clear out. Do you enjoy a massive clear out?

I'll be 50 on Saturday, had an urge to collect more physical music over the last few years.
Dunno what stage of midlife crisis that is, maybe I'll want to get rid of it all in a year or two.
(, Mon 20 Oct 2025, 22:34, archived)
Early stage 1, mild symptoms, get younger now and you'll avoid the worst of it. At least, that's the thinking that leads to stage 2.

I just turned 45.
Had a big spot on my shoulder on the morning of my birthday.

At this rate I might be done with puberty by the time I hit 60.

Or another bath, whatever sooner

(, Mon 20 Oct 2025, 23:20, archived)
Being a more or less functional adult I shower every day, so I doubt it's that.

Dunno how you are working out 50 as your midlife

(, Mon 20 Oct 2025, 23:21, archived)
going to live to a hundred obvs, durr.

I figure it goes from around 30-50, 40 is the mid-point.
Answering my own question there, I must be at the end of it.

I'll be 51 tomorrow
I'm not as into music as I am DVD's, but I've been collecting them for about 20 years
(, Tue 21 Oct 2025, 11:37, archived)
I got rid of almost everything I'd accumlated so far when I moved over here.
Some of the stuff I've lost I regret to be honest.
(, Mon 20 Oct 2025, 22:38, archived)
There is honestly nothing I need of miss. Just old memories wrapped up in objects. I'm just shifting the objects

(, Mon 20 Oct 2025, 23:18, archived)
Honestly no, I like accumulating stuff.
I don’t know why, maybe I’m mentally ill or just programmed to be a good little capitalist drone.
(, Mon 20 Oct 2025, 22:40, archived)
Capitalism these days is more about getting rid of everything you own and just renting things or subscribing to services, though.
So I wouldn't worry about that.
(, Mon 20 Oct 2025, 22:57, archived)
Yeah, consumer society is to consume, not collecting

(, Mon 20 Oct 2025, 23:19, archived)
On a personal level that’s reassuring
though somewhat damning of society at large, which comes with its own set of worries.
(, Tue 21 Oct 2025, 0:12, archived)
I like things, never been a fan of the ephemeral nature of digital 'ownership'.
Middle-aged bloke though, what do you expect.
(, Mon 20 Oct 2025, 22:58, archived)
I expect an interest in pretentious beer and unnecessarily complicated barbecueing techniques,
and a lingering sense that you will never entirely cease to be at least a little bit in love with Gillian Anderson.
(, Mon 20 Oct 2025, 23:11, archived)
Mentally ill

(, Mon 20 Oct 2025, 23:22, archived)
Yeah that was my suspicion.

(, Tue 21 Oct 2025, 0:10, archived)
Paranoid too.
