# opera users
use alt='...' and title='...' because opera doesn't display alts...
(, Wed 9 Apr 2003, 0:45, archived)
# You're absolutely right..
It's the only down side. Any idea why that is?
Seems like a fundamental error!..
(, Wed 9 Apr 2003, 0:47, archived)
# because alt is the text that should be displayed if an image isn't shown
(ie. alternative)
and title is the title of the picture that you are looking at
(, Wed 9 Apr 2003, 0:56, archived)
# Yes.
Opera is the only browser to do it correctly.

# ie displays title as well though
does it not? I thought alt had been abandoned in favour of title?
(, Wed 9 Apr 2003, 0:48, archived)
# I think just title works
(, Wed 9 Apr 2003, 0:49, archived)
# YAY
I can never see enough of that dog. Well done 100% Rogan! ;)

# nope can't see nothin
in IE.
You probably need to do both, to cover everybody.
edit:Sorry, you get the title as a tooltip in IE, and the alt text while the picture loads/borks

# works for me
i'm using ie 6 on win98

yes yes i know that's very old.
(, Wed 9 Apr 2003, 0:54, archived)
# I can
in IE 6.0.200000000000000000sdf00sdfhkjhfkas

# the baord uses "title"
to display "I helped save b3ta" on the donation icons, so it must work in all formats.

I know by the way, don't shout, I'm unemployed :)

# I can see it!
(, Wed 9 Apr 2003, 0:55, archived)
