But personally I feel they could have had at least publicly expressed regret in not getting the manifesto promise through, even if they're voting for these new measures for the sake of the coalition's survival. Trying to convince what they're doing to prospective voters like me isn't just going against the grain, it's a bit suicidal. Of course naturally they're bound to express openly their support for it to make it seem they're not boldly voting against their own party's opinion, but as a tactical move I don't feel this has worked and it just makes them seem as corruptible as anyone else.

i agree wholeheartedly, and i agree that the libdems are basically fucked from this day forth as a viable political force.
but they are 'going along with' tory policy for the sake of this coalition, and tory policy is cuntish in the extreme
