# don't mean to come across as rude, and it's just my opinion
but I find Poser/Daz/etc as annoying as untouched photos, or funny screengrabs from computer games.
i.e. there's a place for stuff, Flickr, Poser forums, etc
unless you can shove blessed's face on her or animate her riding a large cdc like it is a horse of course.

because he can do proper arts.
(, Wed 16 Feb 2011, 12:20, archived)
# no, just always found poser style art as more of an advert for the software company
than the artist - who poses as opposed to makes. But the same goes for Lego photos and stuff like that I guess, so its clearly just me.
I just can't stand their 3d models ;)

I'm saying there that peoples idea of fun differs.
Here I am saying it's just my opinion, not actually saying don't do it.

please read what you are dramatically referencing fella and stop trying to make something of nothing.

but repeatedly using images from *some other* program is perfectly fine

# But surely
It's the creativity and imagination that count, not the tools and processes used. Would you think the same if I produced an identical picture but using vector shapes in Corel Draw?

As an aside, could you please do zombie versions of the Mr Men?
(, Wed 16 Feb 2011, 12:28, archived)
# to create it from scratch with vectors would take one hell of a lot of time and skill
and I think Zombie Mr Men have been done by someone else, sounds familiar
(, Wed 16 Feb 2011, 12:33, archived)
# But then is that skill
just proficiency in using the software? I cannot work out what you're getting at. Or is it that there was no joke?
(, Wed 16 Feb 2011, 12:43, archived)
# I'm guessing just an inherent dislike of Poser.
(, Wed 16 Feb 2011, 12:46, archived)
# you know what..
my advice is don't fucking listen to them.
do what you like, post and say what you like and be damned or praised with it.

but then again that's just me and my pychosis talking.

calm blue ocean...calm blue ocean...calm blue ocean :)

# or people could listen to constructive criticism, weigh up the options and go from there.
It's often a very damaging thing only believing in yourself and ignoring what others say. Some people are trying to help when they say stuff, and you could find shortcuts and other advantages in what they are offering.
(, Wed 16 Feb 2011, 12:58, archived)
# aye that's right..
(, Wed 16 Feb 2011, 13:02, archived)
# Poser/Daz to me is a good start point for artists who don't have a life model at their disposal.
But I find their 3d meshes instantly recognisable in a negative way, so people who use them without much alteration produce very similar pictures.
Just posing the mesh to me is like someone arranging clip art in vector package, not creating it.
I know a lot of studios wouldn't look twice at this sort of thing, so I don't recommend people use it as a rule to help them wander in the right direction. Plus its got the stigma of being mainly used for crap porn :D
(, Wed 16 Feb 2011, 12:54, archived)
# Nothing wrong with crap porn
It's not just the posing. Getting the lighting and bumpmaps looking good is proving a fucking nightmare and it shows.

But I'm still learning, and my aim to create this quality of stuff. As you see, posing is just a small part of the creativity.

Anyone is allowed to have an opinion - at the same time, anyone is allowed to tell that person that their opinion is worth shit.

I think you're a twat with more issues than National Geographic.

But that's of course only my opinion which may be wrong, but which I am course allowed to have. Er, sweetheart, that's nice dear, wa wa wa, boo hoo, whatever you say, troll, yer maw, etc
