Brilliant first book, okay first filmI do feel that they missed the whole "Hammond is a complete cunt and gets his come-uppance" point of the book, though.
I was having a discussion with someone the other night who INSISTS that Malcolm is in the second book. I have no idea what I've done with my copies, and it's been so long since I read them I can't remember either way, but I was sure that he died in the lodge in the first book, out of his head on painkillers for his leg and talking about paradigm shifts ... not stated explicitly (the chapter ends at that point), but when they get to the helicopters at the end, just before the military bombardment of the island, I seem to remember Grant or Sattler asking whether Malcolm made it, to be told no. Any ideas, anyone?
