yesterday alone I had at least 8 people (at different times) all with £10 notes asking for £1.30 or less fares on average that's £8.70 change per person - where do they think we get all that change from? Luckily there had just been enough people on to cover for the dickheads.

actually that's not true we do a "Code 9" emergency call to Radio Control who try to talk to the person via the radio if that doesn't work the Police come to the bus and remove the person - either that or we employ "Driver Discretion" and continue in service regardless of the non-paying tosser. However, I had someone yesterday who in a drunk and insulting way demanded an "80p" I calmly told him we don't have an 80p fare it's 85p which after some moaning he paid but when it came to the fare stage he should have got off at he was still on, so I shouted back "85p, love!" he ignored me so I repeated, he ignored me, I switched off the engine, then he stomped off calling me a "tight bastard" and the moral of this story is - Don't insult the Driver if you're intending to overrride.

Travelled on a bus from Krakow to Zakapane with a single driver. He picked up at stops but didn't start collecting fares until he was on the move. Quite scary when he was scratching about for change with only half of one eye on the road.
