# Seen them in movies....
But never had one.... they don't sell them in Britain...

Only had my first Hershy a few years back, someone bought it back from New York, very nice and buttery it was too
(, Mon 15 Aug 2011, 17:27, archived)
# cyber candy sell them
its one of those shops that import all sorts of illegal-looking international sweets.

I tried one (purely for the movie references) and they were ok. Nothing amazing. Reminds me of some individual cakey things i used to eat at school.
(, Mon 15 Aug 2011, 17:30, archived)
# Twinkies need to be eaten fresh
they have a shelf life of about 20 years (give or take :) but they are tougher to chew as they age

# I prefer to leave it to my imagination....
That way It's always a bit of a mystery when watching an American film...

# Hard to imagine either of those products not being sold worldwide
(, Mon 15 Aug 2011, 17:31, archived)
# They have just stared selling (Reese bars of different sorts)
It says on the packet they have Hershy chocolate on, but it tastes nothing like the chocolate the was bought back from New York..
(, Mon 15 Aug 2011, 17:39, archived)
# Hershey, as do other chocolate manufacturers here,
make a variety of different types of chocolate, for different uses. My fave is milk chocolate bars, with or without almonds. Hershey Kisses and M&Ms (by Mars) are right up there too, in my book
(, Mon 15 Aug 2011, 17:46, archived)
# Think I tried the milk and the almond one....
Tasted like it had butter in it....

# Hershey's is fucking disgusting.
(, Mon 15 Aug 2011, 17:43, archived)
# pfff what an assessment
maybe that's your way of saying you don't care for it personally. But millions of people find it to be delightful. But all this says more about people than it does the products.
(, Mon 15 Aug 2011, 17:47, archived)
# I liked it because it was just totaly different to anything I'd tasted in the UK...
You know how bad UK chocolate is....
(, Mon 15 Aug 2011, 18:02, archived)
# hmm, now I'm curious about that 'bad' chocolate and why
I wonder if it is the dark, bitter kind, which is also made here
(, Mon 15 Aug 2011, 18:08, archived)
# UK chocolate has very low coco content....
So low that it isn't allowed to be called chocolate in Europe, so doesn't taste that chocolatey, it has a large amount of vegetable fat in it, so doesn't feel as nice on the tongue when it melts, in is manafactured to be quite brittle, because the UK market apparently likes a "Snap" in their chocolate when they break or bite it....
(, Mon 15 Aug 2011, 18:15, archived)
# Hershey's will snap, but generally not much at room temperature
'fridge them, and they snap nicely
(, Mon 15 Aug 2011, 18:29, archived)
