# Is is ok to post AI images on the board?
That shit is too low effort for even us. We're not saying you can't ever get some AI help around the edges, but if your work is just typing something into an AI gen and posting it, then no thank you. This also includes videos on /links

I'm assuming this is meant to resemble Radar O'Reilly from M*A*S*H, unfortunately it looks more like a mutant Harry Potter

# I thought it was a young Stephen Colbert.
Needless to say, I don't get it

It's not Stephen Colbert. It's what Stephen Colbert would look like if he'd been raised by a family of very disappointed vicars in Wrexham.

# It reminds me of an actor whose name I can’t remember.
He’s usually some put-upon scientist or other person in a lab coat getting shouted at by the baddy.

Ed: a young Austin Pendleton. Heh, he’s been in so many films I found him on the second cast list I looked at.

# What source image did you cut out for Radar because that doesn't look like him
I mean you wouldn't use ai would you?

# Just scanned it and it's 97% AI
Maybe we could put an AI filter on submissions?

You know AI scanners use AI right?

That's so low effort, it shouldn't be allowed on this site!

# And how would you test it NiceButDim?
(, Thu 11 Jun 2026, 16:02, archived)
# Testing with hammers of course!
Calibrated hammers

# that would be our spidey sense q
i used photoshop 2026's generative fill to make the sky behind my angel of the north look all pretty after i'd knocked her over.
wouldn't want a filter to get all snotty about it.

# full disclosure, though
i'm more optimistic about the positive influence of ai in humanity's future than most. (big culture novels fan)

also this is the best, (most affirming) and funniest thing i've read today. (skip to the end).

The only thing that perm has going for it is that it's completely immune to wind. You could stand in a gale and your hair would look exactly the same, which is either a miracle or deeply unsettling depending on how you look at it.
