# how very odd
*claps*

# now you can be safe in the knowledge that your hard-drive
can be seen by motorists at night.

does anyone know why a pc would have a USB port on the inside of it? i'm repairing one at work, and its sound card has a USB port facing inside the case.

# maybe
an input/output device for case mounted sockets? Like the SB Platinum range...

# What Soundcard is it? That just sounds nuts.
(, Wed 11 Feb 2004, 14:02, archived)
# god knows what it is.
all the pcs in this room have it. NEC-Mitsubishi PC, sound card also has external firewire and usb2
(, Wed 11 Feb 2004, 14:04, archived)
# Ah
a lot of firewire/usb2 cards have internal firewire and/or usb ports so you can mount a USB2/firewire harddrive internally.

# so you can put a webcam inside
webcast your motherboard
(, Wed 11 Feb 2004, 14:03, archived)
# how
enthralling that would be :)

# I have one of those
but my pc has all sorts of flashy lights and a small car.

I'm currently working on a miniature railway

# does it have ordinary
daughterboard connectors as well?
(, Wed 11 Feb 2004, 14:04, archived)
# maybe
you can buy some other thinger that plugs into it.

# I'm sure you'll have hours of fun
Staring at the bright lights, burning the image onto the back of your retina so you will always have a permanent reminder of what a bunch of crap you've spent your money on.

Have a nice day.

# apart from 10 quid on lighting it hasn't cost me a penny
(, Wed 11 Feb 2004, 14:04, archived)
# Ok, maybe I should take some of that back but
modding cases just always struck me as pointless, no matter how much it costs!

(, Wed 11 Feb 2004, 14:06, archived)
# More power to you and all that,
but modding cases always struck me as pointless.

Like putting lights on a spade. It's a tool, nothing more.

# would be useful
for grave robbing.

# Good point.
Lights on a shovel, then.

Oh. Hang on.... Erm.

# lol
but beige boxes are just so dam ugly
(, Wed 11 Feb 2004, 14:06, archived)
# I suppose it depends where you keep it.
Mine's under my desk out the way, but if you've got a big beige box sitting next to you all day, I can understand why you'd want to jazz it up a bit.
(, Wed 11 Feb 2004, 14:06, archived)
# There's jazzing it up
And there's turning it into Blackpool illuminations!

# pritt stick
and glitter sounds a much better solution.
(, Wed 11 Feb 2004, 14:08, archived)
# Or sticking a prick on it
such as Gary Glitter?

# My work one's on my desk
but adding lights to it would be so distracting. I'm too busy looking at b3ta on the monitor.
(, Wed 11 Feb 2004, 14:09, archived)
# er, why the flock would you want lights in a harddrive?
surely the operation would introduce dust into the dust-free environment, thus eventually scratching the platters?
