# Yes Timmy is great.
Sorry to threadjack, but I'm trying to graft two people together (in photoshop, not frankenstein style) and don't know how to make the skin tones match. Can anybody point me in the right direction?

# Use adjustment layers
masked by the previous layer.

Use several different layers and tweak them.

Apparently CS has some sort of auto colour-match function, but I haven't got around to using it yet.

# Which is the previous layer?
The one I'm trying to change? Sorry, I only know the basics.
(, Wed 17 Nov 2004, 10:47, archived)
# Yes
I can't open PS at the moment, so (from memory)

Select layer you want to change
Go to layers menu
Select "New adjustment layer"
Chhose one, eg Colour Balance
In the box that comes up, tick "Use previous layer as mask"
Then fiddle with the sliders
Click OK
Repeat witn another adjutment layer, eg Levels

# I use a combo of
Hue/Saturation, curves and brightness & contrast, all of which are in the Image/Adjustments submenu. I just phaff about with those adjustments on each individual bit, until it looks right.
(, Wed 17 Nov 2004, 10:48, archived)
# That's the easy way
but with adjustment layers you don't lose any of the original image information, so if you make a mistake you can more easily fix it.
