# fuck you :D
ok, Here is something i've been making... It's pretty much finished now, just the purchasing page to do. You need IE to view it as it am teh one they call ASP.NET and nothing but IE likes it :P

www.in2itive.biz/knoco

I can't give you a user/password cos it logs everything on the database now and i'd probably get in trouble cos this portal will cost around £200 a year and giving you access to it will probably get me in more trouble than it's worth :P

# sorry mate.. I don`t use IE
real web developers can develop browser-independent sites :p

plus you have "• Internet Explorer 5 or later is recommended." - that`s a bit daft!
(, Fri 7 Jan 2005, 14:12, archived)
# it only shows that
if your browser Isn't IE.

and this is ASP.NET ffs, the code you create with it WON'T work in anything BUT internet explorer. It's a downside of the language, but it's very powerful. Anyway, the clients who use it will only be using Internet Explorer, so it's ok :)

A site I have developed (and still am Developing) is www.zyk0tik.com all coded by hand, bla bla, PHP, bla bla, SQL, bla bla. That will work in all browsers.
(, Fri 7 Jan 2005, 14:13, archived)
# that`ll be because I`m using Firestoat :p
edit: go on edit your message whilst I`m replying why don`t you :p

surely.. SURELY ASP.NET functions can run server side and make no use of the browser at all? even though 90-odd% of our customers use IE, we still try to make sure our sites work on everything (apart from maybe lynx)

# some will,
some won't... And no, it's not all serverside, a fair bit of the innerworkings are clientside. Also there is ActiveX and DirectX functions. With DirectX being an MS product, most of the web stuff it can do will only work in Internet explorer, because MS simply do not release source code to anyone, especially rival companies. It's stupid and it's unfair on people, especially me because I personally use Firefox and there's a lot of websites I can't visit cos of MS bullshit not being a set standard, and they go off and do whatever the fuck they wanna do, and if you don't have the browser you're fucked. but that's the way they are. I personally however am a fan of EditPlus, PHP server extensions and a nice mySQL database. So much nicer than MS bullshit. Opensource webdesign is the best.

# Kinda contradicting uh
How about boycotting sites that don't care enough for their users to make it multi-browser compatible ?

If you're so annoyed by sites not displaying/working in Firefox ; Why join the bandwagon ?
