Wanna know why the technically superior Mega drive and Master System failed other than crap marketing? Download the game libraries some time and tell me that 99% of them aren't shite whilst keeping a staight face. There are many absolute classics but they're lost in a sea of mediocrity.

# True, but thanks to emulation we can do like-for-like comparisons
For example, I've been going through Nintendos back catalogue, and apart from Super Metroid all their 'classics' suck.

(, Sat 13 Aug 2005, 17:52, archived)
# ah, i think i remember that on the pc-engine.
Best megadrive game was without a doubt and by far and away gunstar heroes
(, Sat 13 Aug 2005, 17:39, archived)
# Gunstar Heroes was good
Though I found it a little easy if you went and took the Lightning Chaser (Blue/Green).

For me though the best one is still Sonic 3 & Knuckles, as good today as it was then.

Honourable mentions go to Rocket Knight Adventures, and Sparkster as you just felt so cool playing it.
(, Sat 13 Aug 2005, 17:44, archived)
# that made it ever so easy
