not necessarily
am I the only one here who saw the polish film on channel 4 set in a land where the only women on the planet were lesbians - apart from two men accidentally frozen in time. I see to remember something about using frozen sperm or science.

I've seen it ...
I keep thinking Plan 9 from outer space ... but that's not it.
It's called SexMission: imdb.com/title/tt0088083/
Now if anyone else has seen LaCabina: imdb.com/title/tt0065513/ I'll be impressed.
EDIT: Also in the film they used sperm for their babies but screen it so only girls were born. Then these two guys break into the lab and wank into the sperm container to save the day. There is also a 3rd guy there who basically runs the place (he dresses as a woman).

Dont the men from the telephone company cart the man off in the phone box to a place where there are lots of others like him, most of them dead?

That's the one !!
I saw it on BBC2 about 20 years ago and it spooked me. I've met one other person who's seen it and everyone else just thinks I must've been dreaming it.
And yes, SexMission ends with a boy being born.
Okay, so how about Hidden City: imdb.com/title/tt0095298/

not so fond of polanski, I've seen Macbeth and the Vampire Hunters but I'm not sure (having read the synopsis) how I'd take repulsion. Especially since reading helter-skelter.

There were the two Buck-Rodger style frozen-in-time lads, and one other.
I seem to remember the two football teams swapping shirts aswell.
I though nobody else knew the film existed! Huzzah!
(Its called "Sexmission" and was make in 1983)
