I didn't notice you'd entered it for the compo
thats even worse!
If there had been a prize for this compo, would you have accepted it then?

I think thread deletion trumps any offense you can commit on here

so if it isn't your work it isn't your problem
not everyone stays on here 24/7
so maybe they have yet to see it.

Well the theory of relativity wasn't my idea but I'd like to put it forward for the physics compition please. Some grey haired german came up with it, not me, so sorry.
Can I still enter it?

Can I still enter it?

I never made/put any effort what so ever into this project/picture/compition entry of any sort but i would still like to use it.

Question: What's the prize for the compo?
Answer: Precisely, now ssh.
Question: is there ever even a "winner?"
Answer: Precisely, now ssh.
Still, that makes me sound like I agree with posting other people's pics, which I don't. However, i fail to see the issue with entering it into this "compo".

I agree with Dave and Monsieur Toast
The whole point of b3ta - especially the compo - is to show off *your own work*. Posting someone else's pic in a competition, DESPITE admitting straight off it's not yours and DESPITE the fact that whoever did it will probably never see it, is still a) against board rules and b) gay.
Would you buy a cake from Morrisons and enter it in a baking comptetition? No.
And if you would, you're no better than the scrotum of a dead meerkat.

For laughs, perhaps
Life ain't all po-faced Being An Arsehole, there's a lot to be said for being a wally.
Anyway, as I said; i'm not defending as I see the issue posting others' stuff; I just don't see why people are saying "compo" as though it's relevant. It's not really even a competition, is it? Besides the Virgin one, that is.

Agreed.
Stop being a cunt and make something yourself. It's pretty simple, really.

I only said it because I'd be fucking annoyed
if someone used my work in a competition of any sort. (not because the FAQ says not to)

thats like saying
oh, don't worry about that man kicking a granny to death, the police are paid to look after that sort of thing. (but in a more melodramatic and over the top way)
Just because it isn't my work doesn't mean that I can't voice my opinion on something that I'd not like to happen to me.

For an analogy
that's more than slightly over-the-top, to be entirely fair.
