I work in a plumbers merchants and have noticed an obvious flaw.
(Obvious if you work in the plumbing trade that is.)
What you have on the sub is a basket strainer waste which has the strainer/plug in already, so the plug floating behind would be of no use at all as it couldn't fit in the already full plug hole.
Other than that, well executed and a great idea.
