This is true. The naming of things is very important.
For example, there is a program called the "Basic Local Alignment Search Tool" (that does local alignments of sequences) - naturally called "BLAST".
This means you can say "let's BLAST that sequence" and sound very active. Other programs called, say, "LETHARGIC" don't do so well.
