Years ago, IBM made a whopping 1Gb drive. I'm not sure exactly HOW long ago this was, but next to it is a 1Gb SD card for comparison.
Remind you of anything?
just to show off. Also, the idea of cold steel for the hands makes me wince.

no way, I had a 1.2Gb drive then and it was a 3.5" one.

I bought 2 5.2GB drives which were, IIRC, the largest commercial drives available at the time. They cost me £255 each as part of a self build that came to £1200 for the whole PC plus OS. ( I asked PC world, for a lark, what they would charge me to build the same machine and they quoted me just under £3k ).
I built a dual core machine for my Dad this year for well under £300.
The times, they are a changing.

Could be considered nsfw.

Although I really do have to credit my friend for the idea.
In my defence it was my wound :P
There's a story behind it actually - I got a cut there when I sliding tackled someone in football (lol - ball!) Then a few weeks later (yesterday) I got the exact same cut the exact same place doing the exact same thing, though this time I sent the other person to hospital by breaking their wrist when they fell down =/
Even more coincidental is that my friend who managed to get acid in her eye saw the person at hospital and rang me to tell me I had fractured their wrist x]

but it wasn't acid.
EDIT: I think it was sugar that we were boiling down.

These boys were in RE seeing how close they could get pens to their eyes withotu touching them.
When Mary described what they were doing, she poked herself in the eye.

In fact, it was her and Natalie that decided to call you "Elfhalinea".

Because I am rubbish at making playlists, I ended up putting everything from a few arstists into one playlist to listen to when I go to sleep :P

I haven't listened to them enough to know many of the songs.
Paramore, Radiohead, Nightwish, The Used for example.
I have everything I have from those bands, plus all of my Incubus.
Right now, it's singing "HAHAURRRR" at me.

It was introduced in the early 1980s I think. We had quite a few in our mainframe room.
edit: 1980, capacity 2.5 GB (so I assume it's either not a 3380 or the label is wrong)
Anyway, it's a mainframe DASD, so it's a bit unfair to compare it with an SD card, which would burn up and die if you tried to give it the punishment these babies used to take.
