Hello lovely!

So, tell me of this gig putting on thing...
(, Tue 24 Jun 2008, 9:31, archived)
# 'ello Cap'n!
As in the gigs I'm putting on meself?

Well, there's one on the 9th of July that we've got all the bands for now...

After that it's September 11th, and yes, I suggested the obvious flyer image. We've got one band, kind of shouty indie thing, but looking for more...

What I'd really like to do is get your lot on with someone noisy like Part Chimp, but they're not getting back to me...
(, Tue 24 Jun 2008, 9:33, archived)
# Well just so you know we are:
-Sort of post-metal in the ISIS, Pelican, Una Corda (yay Brum) style

-fucking LOUD. Seriously. I turned my amp up to 4 yesterday, for a laugh.

-Lovely, cuddly little creatures. Well, I am.

(, Tue 24 Jun 2008, 9:35, archived)
# well done on being loud.
I am surprisingly stealthy for a man of my size, and when turned up to 4 can still sneak past and adorable snoozing doormouse without a-wakening him.
(, Tue 24 Jun 2008, 9:36, archived)
# Not me, I'm plugged into a big box of noisyloud.
(, Tue 24 Jun 2008, 9:41, archived)
# WHAT? I CAN'T HEAR YOU OVER THE SOUIND OF
REALLY LOUD AND AWESOME ROCK
(, Tue 24 Jun 2008, 9:41, archived)
# Rock!

After all, it's been ages since I dragged this out... =)
(, Tue 24 Jun 2008, 9:43, archived)
# Imb
That was meant to look like a devil-horns-type-rock-salute but it just looks like I want to say IBM and am a shift-less spacker who can't spell.

P.s. how does one do BIG text on /board? <big> works on preview but not on board.

(, Tue 24 Jun 2008, 10:03, archived)
# I've heard your band, and I liked it, despite the hugely compressed myspace compressyness....
You'll never be as loud as My Bloody Valentin on friday though...

128.9 decibels...

That's obscene.

But yes, when we have appropriate bands to put you on with, you're coming to London and being damn well paid for the privelege. :)
(, Tue 24 Jun 2008, 9:38, archived)
# PAID?!
Hah, I thought you'd say that about MBV- I wouldn't know. Yes, the myspace files were crap, bloody filesize limits. We can't help making songs that are too long....
(, Tue 24 Jun 2008, 9:40, archived)
# Well, you're travelling, it's only fair.
MBV - the equivalent of standing inside a jet engine at take off. They did a noise thing for 20-30 minutes at the end at that volume. Incredible.

I always listen to the song and not the mp3 quality, and I enjoyed the song. As I said to KM, 9/11 half b3ta bash / gig?
(, Tue 24 Jun 2008, 9:43, archived)
# I shall discuss with the chappy chaps
although I can't foresee a problem- when I mentioned it yesterday they seemed up for it.

Could be that they weren't listening though, they never bloody listen to me. Or stop noodling. Buggers.

I love them, but they're noisy icky boys. BLEURGH.
(, Tue 24 Jun 2008, 9:45, archived)
# in my head you are now the subject of a Tenacious D song
"Woooooooooooooooooooooooonder booooy.... won't you take me far away from the chappy chaps noooooowwww...."
(, Tue 24 Jun 2008, 9:49, archived)
# Well, I've mentioned it to my co-promoter as well...
If he's up for it then it'll be a kind of b3ta gig with shouty indie headliners, so that the others can pile into the drinks... :)
(, Tue 24 Jun 2008, 9:52, archived)
# they're busy with half a banana

# Do you need some sort of metal/industrial band for the September one?
Assuming we've found a drummer by then... O_o
(, Tue 24 Jun 2008, 9:38, archived)
# I can drum*

*have never tried

(, Tue 24 Jun 2008, 9:43, archived)
# Well, we're trying to keep it similar styles together,,,
that way you don't get all the indie kids fucking off once something heavier comes on...

Perhaps a Prof / Cap'n double header, make it into a B3ta event and pack the place tho...

Hmmm...

Get yourself a drummer, the combo of two fine b3ta bands and that date is too good an opportunity to miss.
(, Tue 24 Jun 2008, 9:40, archived)
# I've just emailed the rest of the band
I'm definitely interested, and I'm pretty sure they'll be too, providing we can get a drummer by then.

We may not have enough stuff to be part of a double-header though, might need to go on a little earlier...
(, Tue 24 Jun 2008, 9:49, archived)
# Well, I figured have the indie shouty types as headliners...
that way the b3tans can pile into the booze once they've played and see out the evening in safety.
(, Tue 24 Jun 2008, 9:54, archived)
# Make your songs longer
Our normal 30-40 minute set is TWO SONGS!

Yay for pretentiousness.
(, Tue 24 Jun 2008, 9:55, archived)
# If they can't get a drummer
we could play :D

(, Tue 24 Jun 2008, 9:52, archived)
# This shall also be bourne in mind :)
I hope my co-promoter likes the idea now...

*nervous of possibly having to offend loads of b3tards*
