# Marvellous!
Mind if I print out that Lemmy one?
(, Mon 22 Sep 2008, 10:24, archived)
# sure, no problem
The Lemmy one looks damn good on A4 :)

I'm thinking of doing some much larger versions myself and getting them printed at A3 or A2.

# I think they'd be amazing as posters
How do you make them, exactly?
(, Mon 22 Sep 2008, 10:26, archived)
# take a photo
create a text layer and duplicated it as many times as you want for the various colours/shades of grey. Make the text into the colour you want. Rasterize the text layers. Then it's a process of selecting an area of colour to match a layer and then inverting that selection. Repeat for each layer and create one bottom layer of white. Job done. No trace of the original image is left :)

# *drools a bit*
Phwooooooar. I'd be up for some of that action. *shoves fiver in your knickers*

# Ace, again.
(, Mon 22 Sep 2008, 10:24, archived)
# thanks :)
I still love the Lemmy one, but the Stevie Wonder one has the most detail and certainly has the greatest "wow" factor I think.
(, Mon 22 Sep 2008, 10:27, archived)
# It is my fav too so far, and may stay so.
Bit nutty about him. You won't run dry of
suggestions, but Eno has lots of pics to use.

# I can find pics
but finding pics that then work is a lot more difficult. I wasted about 3 hours last night on a picture of The Boss but had to bin it.
(, Mon 22 Sep 2008, 10:26, archived)
# The more difficult, the better the result.
This is art god damn it!

# If you're taking requests
or at least, looking for cool ideas, I reckon you couldn't go wrong with a bit of Jerry Garcia...
(, Mon 22 Sep 2008, 10:32, archived)
# I'll put it in the list
but it will be a few days or more. I'm trying to go through some really instantly recognisable ones first and then move on to the pet projects for you lovely peeps :)
(, Mon 22 Sep 2008, 10:37, archived)
# Oh no, it was only if you were running out of ideas
otherwise, do whatever the hell you like!
(, Mon 22 Sep 2008, 10:39, archived)
# It's on the list
so it will get done :)
(, Mon 22 Sep 2008, 10:42, archived)

# ta :)
the text at the top was the most tricky. That took longer than the rest of the image :o
(, Mon 22 Sep 2008, 10:30, archived)
# These are excellent!
:)
(, Mon 22 Sep 2008, 10:30, archived)
# cheers
I'm enjoying doing them (well, apart from the binning of poor pictures after spending 3 hours trying to make it work, when clearly it wasn't going to work in the first place :o)

Thinking Tina Tuner as my next one :D. Tried Presley this morning and it just did not work.

# Shweet!!
And seriously do tag them, this kind of thing sells easily.
(, Mon 22 Sep 2008, 10:50, archived)
# tagging them now
thanks for reminding me. I had done the Thom Yorke one, but forgot with the others.
(, Mon 22 Sep 2008, 10:54, archived)
# If you're printing them, keep in mind the dimensions.
The Springsteen is square so it might difficult to get printed as a standard size.
(, Mon 22 Sep 2008, 10:57, archived)
# If I print them
it's only for myself or my friends :)
(, Mon 22 Sep 2008, 11:04, archived)
# Really? I've got a few psd's in this style somewhere.
Time for some research, methinks.
(, Mon 22 Sep 2008, 10:55, archived)
# They really don't sell them for much
But the volume of people buying them makes it worth while ...... if you're sitting on a stall all day selling similar stuff anyway.

# I might give it a go on the weekends at the local markets.
Just have to find a decent print service to make it viable.

# the stevie wonder one should be in braille.

(, Mon 22 Sep 2008, 10:41, archived)

# you are getting a massive click from me
click is being used in the normal and a slightly euphamistic sense. click might make no sense to you but then again your penis might not have arthiritis.
(, Mon 22 Sep 2008, 10:49, archived)
# no
it doesn't

but thanks for the click and hope it was worth the pain
