I just had a look at the sign-up list for the Xmas bash in London. It's a bit /talk-heavy - come on, /boarders, show some solidarity...

It became clear very quickly that it was because we were /boarders and not just twats.

We pride ourselves on our twattiness. We're beyond chavs.

Lots of boarders who were all very welcoming, and I even got an ambigram commission off Prof. Kenny :)

Many readings and rereadings still refused to show your true meaning to me

the rude fuckers make everyone else feel like dog-shit on a shoe and personally I have no overwhelming desire to gatecrash

Are there a certain etiquette?

I just hate all that clique stuff, one of the reasons I enjoy the Derby bashes so much is because it's just about getting together and having a laff, innit?
The May London bash, that Riverghost organised, was similar, great atmosphere because everyone was just having a few drinks and a giggle. Maybe we need to sort out a Christmas /board bash so we can just tell the /talkers to get to fuck if they turn up and start being twattish. Unfortunately that existing one is already too set in what we can expect.

hang on
all the talkers I have met who have actually spoken to me rather that glaring across a room like some sort of abused alsatian have been lovely.

Most generalisations come about by several people proving them right in their case. The '/talk people are rather standoffish' generalisation being a good example of this.

I think they'd probably say the same about here ... aren't we supposed to be cliquey?

I don't know, it's hard to say. I think this side is a little less cliquey, but I'm probably wrong due to bias.
