and I'm not even a fan of those sort of 'click all over the screen until you find the bit that does something' games, but I am somehow drawn in by the MIs

Even King's Quest went all crappy 3D and RPG!
I feel very left out, but at least I have MI to return to

MI is definitely the best, and I love the 'unable to die' thing, not least of all because it takes some really neat plot to enable you to make mistakes and not have to restart!
I hate pixel-searching with the rest of them, but I truly mourn the games industry moving away from the best type there is*. Even with all the interest that still remains almost 10 years later, it doesn't look like they'll ever make the coveted MI sequel.

I became a much happier person when I discovered DOSbox and could play it again.

but it's messed up the timing on the subtitles for MI1, you can't make them scroll any quicker and it's painstaking
Other than that though, I recommend it to everyone, it's an excellent tool :D

I used to play them all, MI, KQ, SQ, PQ, LSL...and I still do sometimes

and it was basically a RPG, yes. With really shit 3D.
