The guy or girl (or ladyboy) on the left (as we look at it) is out of context.

* WINS!

I once passed some poor woman with the longest line of snot hanging from her nose I have ever seen; who clearly had no idea. Part of me wanted to offer her a tissue (I had a packet in my bag), but I felt awkward pointing out her situation and she walked off down Parkway into Camden Town
I felt awful for a few moments afterwards

She was deliberately trying to provoke those feelings in people she passed by. You should check your coat for bugs

if I'm on a No. 40 but usually it's just my "take over" point on other routes. This was mostly drawn at Hallamshire Hospital and Crystal Peaks on a No. 42

I had an interesting journey with a woman with no short term memory who repeatedly told me about her adventure to Crystal Peaks.

It got me successfully to the Hallamshire for interviews before I realised it's easy enough to walk it.

a £10 note for a 40p child fare would definitely be a "You're taking the piss" moment. But mostly we are swamped by £1 coins with kids and adults not having the correct change. Your best bet to appeasing the Busdriver Gods is to sheepishly enter the bus and with a big lovely smile on your face (as long as it's an honest one) simply say "I've only got a tenner, I'm so sorry." and generally most Drivers will be a nice as pie to you. It's the ones that slap the tenner down and say "£1.20, Mate!" who get the backlash.

I will go an buy something to get the change.
and normally it's £3.60 I'm paying.
I did however move to the city centre to avoid having to give First anymore of my money than I absolutely have to. (sorry)

I totally agree - First cut their own thoat by being too greedy with the fare rises (I hope my bosses aren't reading this as it could be sack time)
But they have the £1 after 7pm Sunday to Thursday deal but there is no real reason why this shouldn't be for every day of the week. We also have the Red Route (52) Day and Week Savers (£3 and £9 respectively) and the same with the Orange Route (40, 41, 42, 94, 95) and the Purple Route (11, 12, 81, 82) but nowhere else gets these fantastic deals and it's only because those routes are heavily contended by Stagecoach - First have failed to seize the intiative time and time again.

I would never think to get a bus to anywhere around the city centre. Not that that's a slight on the wonderful busdrivers (;)), but I don't see the point. I used to walk from Kelham Island to the Hallamshire every day when I was at Uni.
