Looks like a Spectrum screenshot :D

Yes I am aware that Spectrums didn't have grey, yes I know the resolution wasn't that high, yes, there are more than 2 colours within a 8x8 pixel grid

# O_O
Who are you people, I don't know you at all

White, Black, Cyan, Green, Magenta, Yellow, Red , Blue
+ "bright" versions of the above
(, Thu 16 Jul 2009, 12:37, archived)

therefore "normal" white is really grey.

# look
hang on

I'm trying to find a good screenshot of this but none of them are very clear.
They didn't seem to use the "bright" colours much at all, maybe because both foreground and background colours had to be bright so you couldn't have a bright colour and a normal colour on the same 8x8 square.
(, Thu 16 Jul 2009, 12:44, archived)
#
it was black, blue, green, cyan, red, magenta, yellow, grey,
and then "bright" versions of all those.

# was the "bright" version of "white" different or the same as the normal "white"?
(, Thu 16 Jul 2009, 12:41, archived)
# Yes
Green is also the same as white, it just has an absence of blue and red.
(, Thu 16 Jul 2009, 12:43, archived)
# what the fuck?
you can't have two different whites can you? if one is brighter than the other, the darker one is grey. that there is the definition of grey.
