# After attending Bugjam this year.......
I bought an old VW Scirocco as a project. I'm thinking of going down the 'rat look' (stripping all the paint, exposing the rust and generally making the outside look as beat-up as possible)to customise it and this is one of my ideas; what do you reckon?

# Sciroccos fucking rock, so anything you have planned gets my vote.

Edit: Make it over a la the police cars in RoboCop. I always liked that look. OCP logo on the side n' all.

# nice one!
I've got an '87 Scala 1.8; it's not in too bad nick but would cost waay too much to bring it back to it's former glory, so may as well just focus on making it run well!

# Scala, eh?
Get you with your flash body kit n' everything!

Nice car, sir. Bloody nice car.

# I think it's been rolled at least once in it's lifetime...
. the driver's side a-frame hase been bowed-out slightly and there are scrapes accross the roof; still it runs without any probs!

# I totalled mine on the M1 going north by Scratchwood Services
Full 360 and backwards into the crash barriers.

In rush hour traffic.
Walked away with only mild whiplash. I owe my life to that car.

# Very true,
The rear end was nearly 2 foot shorter afterwards, and the wheels completely shunted, but I was still able to drive it into the services.

:'( My trusty steed.

Having a bit of a moment here, apologies.

I'll never forget the view through the windscreen of three lanes of oncoming traffic. Jesus, that was fucking scary.

There's a guy around where I am who has done a Mad Max Interceptor paint job on his. More suited to a Mark 2 Escort but still looks cool.

It was a Falcon. Coupe version of a family hack with a V8 used for modified street car racing, with some modern looking bits attached.

# Don't forget to install the 1980s 14 inch portable television in the boot.
I must admit, I don't really get the "rat look" but full credit to you for a good choice of motor to do it with!

Edit: Surely the most tempting transformation would be to make it into a Back to the Future Delorean?

# Nice one
I knew a guy who had one - he had a row with his girlfriend (my landlady)
and with a head full of coke got into his car. I stood in the way hoping he'd
get a grip, but he just revved up and tried to run me over. Later he wrapped
it round a lamppost. Bellend.

# the Rat look is lush on VWs
My camper appears to getting that way as we noticed today paint peeling from the roof.
And if your in the south east ish take it to the London VW show at north Weald. You can run what you brung.
I can't as we can't get the bus started so it may be new car up there.
And nice sketches.
EDIT I should have said north Weald show is tomorrow. What a mong.
