# Not this well.

# Not sure 'bout that...
It's not like it says 90p on the shelf and when you get to the counter they charge you a fiver for it is it? Or am I behind on my current affairs?
(, Tue 27 Oct 2009, 16:18, archived)
# You certainly are!
You can't get anything for 90p in Waitrose...

#
you have to take a loan out to do a weeks shop!

# Somerfields are bad for that
The shelf tags seem to be from a different world from the till computers. Occasional problems with Tesco.

# They fixed that around here.
If a cash register brings up a price that's higher than the price on the shelf, you get:

- the item for free if the real price is under $10
- $10 off the price if the real price is over $10

Applies only to the first item scanned. Oddly enough, not many stores make this mistake.

# I got a free shop from Tesco one week
because they had mislabled a pizza, they give you the item for free and refund double how much you paid for it, was a 3.99 pizza and I bought cheap own brand stuff for the rest of my shop, they even gave me some money back.

# I know why that is

# safeway were absolutely *persistent* in having different prices on the machines to what was on the shelves
fuck safeway, robbing bastards

no wonder they took a good hard shit

:)

# So much better to shop at Tesco or Sainsbury's
then you can be assured that the suppliers have been screwed to within an inch of their lives.
(, Tue 27 Oct 2009, 16:38, archived)
# POTS!!! :D

# Jess!
(, Tue 27 Oct 2009, 16:46, archived)
# To be honest
It doesn't matter which supermarket you shop at, they ALL screw their suppliers. The difference is that Tesco and the like don't make any illusions that they aren't.
(, Tue 27 Oct 2009, 16:40, archived)
# Well...they don't exactly put it in the ads either ;)
Poor Tesco just suffer from being very visible and unable to hide the screwing.
(, Tue 27 Oct 2009, 16:42, archived)
# They screw their staff as much as their suppliers
But that's another story. Also, their tractor units are great, they have cans of spray paint to hide the logos in the event of an accident :D

# I quite like tesco
but only because they're attempting to take on wall-mart. It's like King Kong vs Godzilla, or Freddie vs Jason.
(, Tue 27 Oct 2009, 17:58, archived)
# in fact tesco make damn sure you know
you go in there one week and all of a sudden they don't have any of some common food item that you went in there specifically for, and you know it's just because they're bending someone over.
(, Tue 27 Oct 2009, 16:43, archived)
# Pfft :)
(, Tue 27 Oct 2009, 16:45, archived)
# Not true
Spars here are quite sound and I believe it's the same in the UK.
I won't supply anyone else because I refuse to:
a) Replace goods the supermarket have damaged.
b) Replace goods that have been nicked in the supermarket.
c) Wait 90 days for payment.
d) Pay vast amounts for the privilege of having shelf space.
e) erm.
f) No profit.

(, Tue 27 Oct 2009, 16:46, archived)
# I don't count spar as a supermarket
So they are excused from this tar covered brush :)
