Gotcha

Med bar/ custard factory and rainbow pub (all in digbeth) are pretty good, cheapish venues that quite often have some good bands/djs, etc.
Personally, I avoid Broad Street like the plague - tawdry looking women and men in white shirts who'd like to have a fight is my general impression of that end of town.

are boring at best.
But on some people, in some situations, they also act as an early warning system,
ie- it's 2am, it's cold, there are 3 guys staggering towards you wearing white shirts. Could be time to cross the road.

Yeah, I can't see me going Broad st too much, only to clubs if that's where we end up

and they are usually fine on student nights.
I've heard custard factory is good, dunno bout rainbow yet.
I quite wanna go to SNOBS on a wednesday, it sounds so bad it's good.
It's annoying having to get taxis places tho, Im used to sheffield where you can walk everywhere and not fear for your life at moments

A long time ago, I was refused entry to 'alternative night' at Snobs because I wasn't a regular and I was "too alternative".
I was annoyed, because I wanted to get in and have a drink, but at the same time chuffed for out-alternativing their cheesy nite-klub.
Also a bit confused as to how one becomes a regular if you can't get in in the first place

I wanted a large drum kit, but could not afford the good stuff. But now that I will be heading to uni I am selling it (and my laptop, and my electric kit) for money (and because even electric drum kits make a lot of noise). Also: I want a super-awesome pc desktop.

For the last 4 years at uni all I've had with me here is just

Snare, cymbals and bass pedal, that's all I really need as most practice rooms have everything else.
And I havent had as much time to play as I'd have liked.
So if you wanna do a band or something take the breakables with you and you should be fine and shit

And most practice rooms are open late anyway to accomodate people who work during the day and shit.
First year means nothing, get 40% then start working the next 2 years, or 3 years if you do a masters
