Someone explain optimisation to a thickie pls. I just press a little button on Gimp and it does it for me. Is there more to it than that??

It optimise my GIF for me

to get to the animation window, go to "window" in the menu and click "animation." To use the optimizer, click "Save for Web" in "File" when you're done the actual animation.
