My 22nd in Pontefract

As far as I know, this is the first ever OMGBASH to be held in the People's Republic of Ponte; a place where a quaintly mediaeval market town meets hideous 1950s flats in a schizoid collision of two wildly disparate environments. The home of Haribo World, the remains of a mediaeval castle (not much to see there, but entrance is free), and an extensive market in which you can buy anything and everything.* Also, Diggerland Yorkshire is in the next town (Castleford.)

WHERE IS IT?
In the centre of Yorkshire, 6 miles from the A1 and right by J32 of the M62.
The pub is pretty much slap-bang in the middle of the town, and looks like this:

HOW TO GET THERE
The M62. The A1. Other, less major, roads.
Regular trains from Leeds (30 mins, calling at Monkhill) and Wakefield Kirkgate (18 mins, calling at Tanshelf and Monkhill).
Two trains per day from Sheffield and York (calling at Baghill).
Buses nos. 125, 143, 145, 147, 148, 149, 150, 157, 184 and 185 from Wakefield.
Buses nos. 408, 409, 412 and 430 from Doncaster Interchange.
Buses nos. 35 and 46 from Barnsley Interchange.
Bus no. 410 from Leeds.

DISTANCES
7-15 mins' walk from Tanshelf station (depending on how walkaphobic an internet fatty you are)
10-15(?) mins' walk from Monkhill station
Literally round the corner from the bus station

FLOORSPACE
I can offer crash-space for up to four people in Normanton (5 miles away, about £8 for a taxi).
There are at least two b3tans in adjacent towns who may or may not offer floorspace.
Failing that, there is a Travelodge nearby in Ferrybridge.

Anyone fairly local who wishes to offer space of their own is more than welcome to do so!

Given that I may be living in Pontefract by then there is a good chance I'll be there.
