If it matters, the Steve McQueen you linked to actually won an oscar, the other famous one didn't.
The Steve McQueen you linked to actually has a whole page on Wikipedia devoted to his awards. I'm not suggesting that's the only measure of success, but he is better-known than a simple 'ha-ha, they've got the same name' joke would suggest.

He came to give a talk at a place I was working and asked the organiser if they could bring him some chocolate.
